#BCTECH Summit

Action

The inaugural #BCTECH Summit, hosted by the Government of British Columbia and the BC Innovation Council was a two-day conference to inspire and empower British Columbians and BC businesses to expand opportunities by embracing technology and new innovations. We were engaged to secure media coverage before, during, and after the #BCTECH Summit, to support ticket sales, awareness and interest through media sponsorship and partnerships that benefit the #BCTECH Summit, and strengthen relationships with press through an on-site media lounge. To achieve this, we designed and executed a strategic media relations and sponsorship plan that included industry-focused story angles and creative ideas that complemented the BCIC and GCPE marketing and communications plans for the conference.

Reaction

Through the consistent stream of communication we secured 6 media sponsors to produce pre-conference coverage and drive ticket sales, and coordinated a number of pre-conference interviews. As a result, tickets successfully sold-out a month before the conference. In total, 35 print, broadcast and online media hits were secured including the Canadian Press, CBC, Globe and Mail, 24 Hours, The Vancouver Sun and Business In Vancouver, resulting in 46M+ impressions. Additionally, we coordinated on-site media needs at the event, hosting 89 media over the course of the two-days.
