As a global pioneer in augmented reality and visual messaging, Snap’s reputation in new markets didn't yet reflect the scale of its technology, investment or ambitions. As Snap grew its local presence, it needed to build greater awareness among consumers and businesses while demonstrating how brands could use its technology to meaningfully connect with their audiences.
As Snap expanded their technology and business and advertiser relationship, there was a growing need to create a distinctly local narrative, while simultaneously building the profile of country managers and key executives in each market.
Our Approach
Snap tapped Talk Shop to build an always-on media relations and thought leadership program that could strengthen the company's local presence while giving its leaders and technology a bigger platform. The strategy brought together proactive brand storytelling, executive profiling and targeted consumer, business and trade media relations to demonstrate Snap's relevance to both audiences and advertisers.
Talk Shop positioned the country manager as an industry voice to watch, securing opportunities in leading tier-1 media: Toronto Life, Bay Street Bull, The Feed and Tech Talk, while storytelling around Snap's augmented reality capabilities demonstrated the platform's value for brands. A standout FASHION Magazine feature brought that story to life, while coverage in the country's national and regional news outlets highlighted Snap's growth and investment in local talent.
